I visited Iran in February 2017 and absolutely loved it. The culture is rich and deep – so much to see in this country. It seems every city is totally unique, with different levels of piety, different art and different sites. I have travelled a lot and have never felt more safe or welcomed in a country. The hospitality is incredible, with strangers wanting to take you home to feed you. There were some real surprises like Darband in northern Tehran, the Kaluts in the desert and the constant backdrop of mountains throughout the country.
We were a group of 8 friends who had always wanted to see Iran. Sajjad our guide accommodated all our interests – especially our requests to try local food specialties. We met and chatted to lots of locals, saw some stunning scenery and our trip gave us a much better understanding of Iran and her people. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
