Day 1: Arrival Muscat International Airport - Muscat City Tour
Welcome to Sultanate of Oman! Your guide will pick you up at Muscat International Airport and you will directly start to explore the highlights of the capital of Oman, Muscat. Your half day city tour of Muscat will start from exploring the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the biggest Mosques in the world (please consider the dress code). The Mosque is open from 0800 HRS till 1100 HRS (except Friday). Pass the embassy quarter and enjoy a guided tour through the beautiful Royal Opera House (tour services are just available if there is no rehearsal on stage). Visit the Bait AL Zubair Museum. After this you drive along the corniche to Muttrah Souk, the oldest souk in Oman. Continue to Al Alam Palace (Photo Stop) which is flanked by two Portuguese Forts, called Al Mirani and Al Jalali. Check in at the hotel at leisure. Overnight at Crowne Plaza Muscat or similar.
Day 2: Barka - Nakhal - Wadi Bani Auf - Al Hamra - Nizwa
Today’s tour will lead you to the Al Batinah you will visit the lively fish market in Barka, where the local fisher men are selling their catch of the night. Then the journey takes you to Nakhal has an impressive fort, built on a 60 meter high mountain. Drive through the beautiful villages, where the houses are surrounded by gardens and reach Ain Al Thawarah, the hot spring system of Nakhal after the walk. From there on you will enjoy a real adventure crossing the magnificent Al Hajar mountains via Wadi Bani Auf! On your way you will have the possibility to enjoy the view and take pictures for the charming Bilad Sayt village. After passing the mountains you reach to Al Hamra. It is a small village where locals opened Bait Al Safah its former house as a museum for visitors to experience the lifestyle of an Omani. Overnight in Antique Inn Nizwa Heritage House or similar.
Day 3: Ibra - Wadi Bani Khalid - Al Sharqiyah Desert Sands
The day will start with a journey towards Ibra you will have a chance to discover the old part of the city to have a photo stop at Al Minzifah abandoned village before continuing to Wadi Bani Khalid. Then experience one of the natural beauties of Oman Wadi Bani Khalid that invites you for a swim in the pools or a walk to take photos of some lovely memories. Then back to the care which the drive leads you to quickly scenery change on your way to the desert of Al Sharqiyah Sands, entering the sand to have another magnificent natural experience of Oman. Check in to your camp and then go for a perfect place for the sunset is on top of the dunes take thechance for wonderful memory photos or walk by the soft golden sand dunes. Dinner and overnight in Desert Nights Resort or similar.
Day 4: Sur - Wadi Tiwi - Muscat Departure
Depending on your departure time at the airport you have the possibility to see the following sights. First of all you will return by the coastline and reach via Sur or take the option route via Ibra. Sur in former times used to be one of the most important trading cities in the Arabian Sea it is now a more silent but still beautiful city. You will visit the Dhow factory where traditional wooden ships are made in open air and its museum. After leaving Sur you will drive alongside the coastline. Take the chance to walk or drive through Wadi Tiwi by car famous of nine villages and plantation of date palms and mangos. Just in time to reach your flight you will be brought back to Muscat International Airport.
