Mount Damavand, a potentially active volcano, is a stratovolcano which is the highest peak in the middle east and the highest volcano in Asia (5671m).

Damavand has a special place in Persian mythology and folklore. It’s in the middle of Alborz range, adjacent to Varārū, Sesang, Gol-e Zard, and Mīānrūd. It’s near the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, in Amol County, Mazandaran Province, 66 kilometers (41 miles) northeast of the city of Tehran.

Mount Damāvand is the 12th most prominent peak in the world and the second most prominent in Asia after Mount Everest. It is part of the Volcanic Seven Summits mountaineering challenge.

Day 1 : 🕶️ Driving from Tehran to Larijan

Welcome to Iran, a land full of wonders. Your guide who accompanies you during this trip will welcome you at the IKA airport with a bunch of flowers. You would be transfered directly to Larijan, which is located at the Alborz Mountains famous for the mineral hot water springs.

You will see:
The Larijan village and Alborz range with the great landscape of Damavnd and the beautiful Haraz road

You will Experience:
Hot mineral water of Damavand in Larijan village

You will know:
The lifestyle of people in the small village in a volcanic area

Distances:
Ika airport to Larijan is 160 km (less than 3 hours)

Day 2 : 🕶️ Driving to the start point of the climb in Bargah shelter or camp

After leaving Larijan and spending one hour on the dusty road, we reach Damavand climbing track in the south-face, a small camp and parking called Gosfandsara take some mule to carry the packs and start to trekking to the base camp of Damavand located 4200Meter ASL called Bargah and stay there for overnight.

You will see:
Great landscape of Alborz range. Laar Dam Lake and some small villages in root

You will Experience:
Natural habitat in 4200 meter altitude

You will know:
The process of hiking up to Damavand Base camp

Distances:
Climbing from Alt 2800 Meter to 4150 meter ASl (About 4 hours)

Accommodation:
Bargah shelter or camp

Day 3 : Acclimatization in Bargah shelter or camp

A full day acclimatization with high altitude. Climbing up to 4500 meter and descending. Relaxing in nature and enjoying the spectacular landscape.

You will see:
Frozen waterfall of Damavand. Landscape of Alborz range.

You will Experience:
Acclimatization in camp and ascending to 4500 m altitude.

You will know:
How to breathe and hike in a high altitude.

Day 4 : Damavand summit 5671 meter in shelter or camp

Having a big day of climbing from Bargah 4150 meter to Damavand summit 5671 meter (8 hours). Staying at summit and taking some pictures and descending to the shelter and having a summit party.

You will see:
The summit of highest volcano of Asia. Sulfur vapor spring at the top and a great landscape of Damavand.

You will know:
How to climb Damavand summit.

12 Hours maximum.

Day 5 : back to Tehran in Tehran

Descending from the shelter to Gosfandsara and driving to Tehran via Haraz road. Visiting Milad tower as well as dinner in a traditional restaurant and resting at the hotel.

Tehran, Milad tower

Having a great Iranian Cuisine

You will know:
The Iranian lifestyle in the capital

Day 6 : City tour in Tehran

At your last day in Iran, you will have a full-day experience in Tehran. After visiting the National Museum Designed by Andre Godard, the French Architect, we will walk to the Golestan Palace, founded by the Qajar kings and also the palace for the Pahlavi kingdom coronations. Inside the Bazaar, you will have the experience of visiting the busiest market in Iran. The Jewelry museum is the next destination*.In the afternoon you would transfered to Ika airport to fly back home.

You will see:
National Museum, Golestan Palace, Grand Bazaar and the Crown Jewels Museum.

You will experience:
Meet the mixture of modern and traditional way of living in Tehran. Surprising by the amount and size of amazing jewels in the museum. Also you will experience how the Iranians shop where they call “Bazaar”.

You will know:
The history of Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties. The development of Tehran from a village to the biggest city of Iran.

Tehran to IKA airport is 40km (about 40 minutes)

* Visiting the crown jewels museum based on their working day, the museum is open from Saturday to Tuesday 14-16.30
